Removing/disassembling glass panels

    Whats the best and easiest way to do this ? the tank has aluminium bracing on the front panels . we pretty much failed at doing any damage to the silicone .

    I used guitar wire, I had aluminium corners etc and took me 20min to dismantle my large tank

    Piece of metal measuring tape which u break off and use as a blade.what I sometimes do is pour methylated spirits on the silicone after I make one cut along the length of the seam..It softens the silicone and makes it easier for it to be cut

    Also builders gut or fishing line and acetone.

    20 min is nothing compared to the time we put in already with fishing line and a blade , my guitar needs to re-tuned so ill try this method first , thanks bro

    shot , i was also hoping that id find something that d make it easier for the silicone to peel off , the meths should just wash off ? :)

    meths would also evaporate very quickly..trust me the measuring tape method works very well. just be careful if you are working with thin glass when dismantling a tank as the glass can crack very easy when you cutting between two pieces

    thanks for the heads up bro :) ill try the measuring tape as well , im hoping to avoid any cracking by taking off the cracked side first , will let ull know how it went
