    Hi all,

If you want to run a remote engine room, but can't gravity feed your sump from the tank. How do you get the water from your DT to your engine room?

Suppose the only way would be to pump it from your DT and let it gravity feed back to your DT?
Or you will need to use two pumps, one in each tank.
But two pumps might not have the same flow rates so you would need a float valve on each tank to stop the pumps if the tanks get too full.

    I would think....

this never works as it is prone to failure. i would not go this route personally;)

    1) Have a sump below the tank with its own return pump and connect a pump pumping from it to the remote filter and then gravity feeding back to it, it will esentially act as a return chamber only

    2) same as above but the remote sump feed could be gravity fed and then from the remote sump pumped to the DT..

    Hi Leslie,

Was thinking of using a 2 tank setup under DT.
First tank for overflow, then pump to remote room.
Remote room then pump water back to the second tank.
Second tank then pump water back to DT.

These 2 tanks would have to be cleaned on a monthly basis to make sure that there is no buildup. Will also have to make a fail safe should one of the 2 pumps fail!

Still don't think I'm sold on the idea.
Was wondering how the big boys do this!

It would be perfect if I can gravity feed to remote engine room and then pump back :)
