this is my tank for the last 3 years
i have now got two via qua boxes and an ATS
i am actually making away with most of the corals as i am preparing for SPS
I will start with a montipora first and have him survive fisrt then go forr acripora
as i think i ahve sucesssfully kept LPS and softies for a while now
the second pic shows my tank before i started making away with corals
the first pic shows my current setup running with the ATS

I run purigen, phosguard, carbon, two skimmers ,two bio filters, the ATS has a vertical and horizontal component,I also have been measuring my paremeters now daily, nitrates, phosphates,PH,alkalinity, and calcium which i never use to do as i am now preparing for sps,
the scrubber is running for about three weeks
nitrates less than 7 ,phosphates less than 1 ,still unacceptable.

i WILL be at zero at the end of this month (Allah willing)

have not been doing water changes as i am trying to see if the scrubber works
    bit risky but worth it

Must by chiller as well Cmon bonus month
hope this is interesting for some one

Tank is looking great man. Even with running an ATS i would reccomend the waterchanges.

how do i know if the scrubber is affecting the nitrates and phosphates as i am sure you know you see a huge drop due to the dilution of the nutrients
so iw ill not know what part of that drop was caused by the scrubber

As long as you see algea growing on the scrubber it is working and doing its job

I would suggest you drill your tank, add a skimmer as well as a DSB. to assist with your filteration. then research on the corals that you want to keep as well

Ive got a six cm dsb (aragonite ) in my MDT
and ive allready got two skimmers running
I want to succeed having sps in this tank without driling and a sump as i was told that it is not possible by other people
and i think i am well on my way to succeed with my mission
remember this is a nano and thats the challenging part as well as the part that i love

its just easier not not possible. If you look at nano-reef.com there are plenty of tanks that dont have sumps that have sps corals. Great to kknow that you have the passion.

    DIY dripper advice

Can anyone advise me on using a 1,5 litre coke bottle with a 1 tea spoon mix of baking soda and calcium each at a drip of a drop a second into a 100litre nano

i am seeing the PH goe up significantly with alkilinity following very very very very very slowly up

i thought i would mention that the room the tank stands in has an open door to outside open 24/7 as i am running a lead to my koi pond through this door

Nice setup dude. similar to mine. got my monti's to grow lekker, but still not sure i'm ready to graduate to full sps yet. i have chucked my dsb. following a sump crack, but i'v noticed positive reaults by increasing my water change frequency as well as skimming a bit more wet.

    update

the baking soda and calcium mix didnt go to well

for some reason the alkalinity dropped steadilly after initially picking up
the PH dropped right down to below 8.0
time to pull out the strong bases
i started dripping kalkwaasser to get the ph up and boy did it go up
it is alot more responsive on the ph
the alkalinity was still low and slowlly slowwly coming up
i think i must still doe the baling soda as the lime only maintains the alkilinity and cannot get it up on iots own
i got the calcium to be exactly 450 the nitrates 0 and phosphates 1 ,so i replaced the phosguard and cleaned my scrubber
got 40 litres of water from the aquarium
i also heard the kalkwasser will precipitate out the phosphates

will keep an eye on it as i am testing dayly for everything except MG

loki send me pics of those montis

i really really enjoy looking at the full monti
