Just a bit pricey for a flame angel but the others seem normal.

Trad I spoke to some guys who have a regal (at least I know the difference now) and they have no problems but they have a big system. They do nip softies and LPS's but in a big system the harm is minimal. I nearly bought one on saturday but decided against it.

Some prized fish for some just dont do it for me, regal angel is one, regal tang another and as for clams well i cant frag it so have never gone that route.

a word of advice, make sure the regal angel is eating or your gonna have **** and its a mission to get them feeding, rather try to get a small or juvi regal angel..

heres mine(around 20cm-8inches) in my 680lt tank.i felt he was a bit cramped here so i sold him on masa to attila to place in a bigger tank, unfortunately he died because the bag tore(i'm guessing the spines on the gills did this,as i double sealed the two bags with newspaper in between etc with cable ties even!):(

but a beautiful fish and definitely one of my favourites, heres some pics..[IMG][IMG][IMG]

the first was on the day he arrived so breathing heavily due to stress,i got him to eat by feeding it clam on the half shell, blood worms, brine shrimp, nori sheets, and ofcourse he was raiding the live rock like crazy so make sure you got plenty live rock..

Trad I saw one at VIP but I donh't know if they still have it. It had a blue chest (I think) not yellow. I bet you didn't know there were two types;)

yeah blue chest is from the phillipines and the far east, the yellow chested usually come from the red sea, however it was believed that the yellow chested are hardier but they are also more pricey.....

blue chested can be found for under R1000 ,yellows normaly sell over R1000 for even a little juvenile.

as you can see mine is the yellow chested but it came from indonesia,so go figure lol

i never did manage to get mine eating flakes or pellets.how about you mek?

Falcon, when I got mines, he was covered in whitespot. He took pellets and flakes, then 3 weeks later, dead. No signs of parasite at all. Strange death.

probably shipped poorly and i'm guessing that it was caught using cynide.

unfortunately these fish have very very very low survival rates and i would suggest you rather not get it as 95% of all collected specimens die within two months.

i still want one but now i have a juv blue face and its so much easier to keep healthy compare to that regal which gave me sleepless nights!

i have had a red sea regal now for close on 5 years beautiful fish, the one's which come from the red sea have the best survival rates imo gray throated ones are the hardest to keep

they are definitely easier to keep than moorish idols though
