In my new tanks sump iv got a large dedicated refugium area. The chamber is about 30cm wide by 40cm deep and 40cm in length.
The flow is from the bottom then flow moves up over the last baffle into the return chamber.

My Q is should I get the cheato to tumble and if so should add a small pump to create circulation to spin the cheato.

And what light.
4w led spot or as high as 10w led flood light

Any help to get it thriving would be great.

i have my cheato just flowing with the flow through the sump, and i use a 10w floodlight 24/7

It currently doesn't move at all.
There is flow but not enough to rotate the clump of cheato

My cheato is in a plastic basket that have a handle hanging over the side of the sump. Get those rectangular baskets at Plasticland. Not a lot of flow around them either. Just turn it over once a week.

Ok cool
Added a 10w led spot light last night
The ball is about the size of half a soccer ball
Hope I can get it growing well soon.

What LS do you guys keep in your refugium? Currently I got only my macro algae with some pulsing xenia... was thinking of putting in a few hermits and snails?

snails would be fine.

A hermit or two to would help with settlement.
