    Hi all.
I have a reffoctopus T2 in my sump - how deep should this be in water for it to work at its best. And another thing - should it sit right on the bottom of the sump floor as to pick up more gunk?

    Please advice.

    Thanks guys

The depth is going to depend on where it is skimming inside the cup and how much you can adjust it. I had to put mine on a plastic container to get it to skimm properly

These skimmers perform best with the water level about 5cm above the pumps Pugsly.

thanks for the info - will play aorund with it then - another thing, is it best to wet skim or dry?
And is it better if the skimmer sits flat on the base of the sump? will this aid in the picking up of gunk?

Hi Pugsley - not specifically. I have found that skimmers tend to "behave differently" in different tanks.....

Best for you would be to get the skimmer to skim first off - and then to start experimenting with wet/dry skimming, and height of the skimmer in the water.....
