Ok so these pictures from Reefmaster Indonesia may be a little ‘juiced’, but there’s no denying that this is one of the wildest Echinomorpha chalice corals we’ve ever seen. And that’s saying a lot since Echinomorpha already has a tendency to show up in simply outstanding colors and patterns.
Previously we’ve shared splendid examples of this rarer and much lesser known species of chalice corals from Gonzo’s Coral Frags, LiveAquaria and Cherry Corals. But there’s no question that the Reefmaster Echinomorpha is truly the ‘reigning champ’ for color and pattern in this species.
Even if you use a mental filter to imagine what this coral looks like with less digital enhancement, there’s no doubt that this is the kind of coral that any chalice coral would love to have in their collection.
