Are there any reefkeeping magazines available in south africa? I have looked at CNA, Exclusive Books and other shops that keep magazines in East London, but dont see any.

i think practical fish keeping, but the online ones are good

Thanks for the reply Dallas. I've never been one for reading magazines/books online or on pc, i think i am old school in that regard...like a good old hard copy. :p

me too, but its cheaper :)

CNA will do special orders

I have bought a few nice copies of the UK magazines, Practical Fishkeeping, and another new Marine magazine (can't remember the name now), from "PaperWeight".
The copies are a few months old, but that's ok with me....

Just on line mags which I have to print out as I cannot read well off a screen

:( we dont have a paper weight here, maybe my sister can find some for me in Cape Town and send them up. I dont mind them being a few months old either.

The C Journal by Anthony Calfo is, I think, a quarterly specialist marine mag.

We can get them up in JHB, I don't know about EL.

The C-Journal is not even available in Cape Town, Bob....

I think that South Africa NEEDS it's own ReefKeeping Magazine. I investigated it about a year ago. Went to talk to publishers everything. But, the financial investment is quite a bit to start off with. More than what I could get together.

I have done all the homework. Anyone interested in investing?
There are a few other people who could EASILY assist in getting a South African magazine out....
We have MORE than enough of our own "guru's" in our OWN country. BUT, just to get this started.....

mark we had a paperweight store in vincent next to Keg.. it moved to lower oxford st try online yellow pages.. nt sure if the place is still around..

Jacques i am involved with a geek publication and a web fundi, so lets get this going and make it web based and pdf, most like print, but we can print and bind and keep focus on web and e-media as the cost is lower....

i am also involved with advertising, yip u want it i will find it, and lets go for it

to give a good example for a local hobby mag, NAG new age gaming,

also have experience starting and running online communities, started Incorrect syntax near ','. in 2000 and its going strong, a site for local game development for pc, xbox etc

+1 from me

also with web we can go international and flaunt guys like hennie, bob, adriaan, midasblenny to name a few
