@Tremayn, Bud, here is some homework for you. I will give you some facts and you can do the Math's for us.

Salinity of 35,5 ppt is equivalent to a sg of 1.025 @ 25c (approx)

That means that 35,5 kg of salt will make 964,5 litres of salt water to a salinity of 35,5 ppt

    Your home work is

    A) How many litres of salt water @ 35,5 ppt will 20 kg make?

    B) What will the salinity be if 20 kg salt is mixed with 600 litres of water?

True. I remember there was a test thing on different salt brands and I know red sea coral pro salt made the most water at 35.5ppt. I have this salt, and boy does it last long :) ..

Bud i am sure their is something amiss with your testing consistency.:whistling: Salinity is measured in ppt. That means that it is a "mass" measurement.

So 35kg of salt mix added to 965kg (litres) of water make up 1000kg of salt water. this is 35ppt.

Different manufactures have different blends of salt elements but the mass will not change. A kg is a kg.
