Hi all, been on for a bit without comment - time to introduce myself. Back into this after a 14 year gap, Going reef, with a view to LPS and SPS.

So far 6 weeks in, all looking great apart from a wee bit of Majano which I am blitzing with lemonjuice.

Tank:
1220x450x500
Sump1 500x350x350 (Refugium, DSB)
Sump2 500x350x350 (TS1, DIY Phos reactor, Heater - the mechanix sump)
2 x Seio 820
2 x Astro 3000 return pumps
40 odd KG Kenyas LR
T8 lighting (on the mission to upgrade this to T5 54W in the next 2 weeks)

Livestock:
Purple leather (about 20cmx20cm) came in on LR
White Leather (same)
Purple Urchin (came in on LR)
various snails (came in on LR)

Pics for the pic-ho's

Tank with aquascaping done, left is on a PVC H-shaped holder, right is puttied in place. Note the 2 leathers that came in on the LR.

And the mechanix, I pump from S1->S2, and use a return T-Piece with valve to regulate the flow to keep sumps level WITHOUT impeding flow. Have tested all failurte scenarios and it all works, but am thinking of a redesign.

Thanks Jason, what is not evident in pic is that two of those rocks in the pile are wide and flat, in the light which gives a great platform for SPS and LPS, worked out really well.

Geez you stil worked out your scaping... I just go with the flow, pack it as i go, only thing i work out is for the rock to have minimal contact... Thats why my scaping sucks and look like a pile of rocks... Keep it up... :peroni:

Welcome to the forum mnd123.

Tank is looking good so far, nice bonus with those leathers on the live rock, not often you get that luck. Throw a couple of T5's in there and you'll be set. Looking forward to watching your progress....in pictures :D

Hey all, 3 months in, and like any parent I think my child is beautiful! Tank params perfect, so much life after lights out it is scary, lots of copepods, amphipods and brittle stars - in the display and refuge.

Some pics of my expensive baby

and SPS, hammer and frog spawn (got damaged in car I think, I lost 2 of the heads)

Fish too fast for my ass, but have the following

1 x 6 line wrasse
1 x fire goby (6 line harassed the other 2 to death)
2 x false percs
1 x regal tang (tiny little guy, about 2cm)
1 x beautiful pacific sailfin tang

Comments? I know I need to upgrade the lights, but still waiting for my LPS to get the quads in, anything else I am blinding obviously missing?

Thx
