What is a decent second hand price for a reef octopus dnw150, the guy is charging me R1500, said he only used it twice, is that a good price?

OTP1000 is just a pump, the skimmers than run the OTP1000 pump would be a TS1 and NW-100 both would be small for your tank and are cheaper than R1500 new.

Get a octx 160, kicks some serious ass. I seen an almost new one on SARK for 2k. I just hooked my octx200 on a 400L heavely stocked tank and me loving it, very silent too. You wont go wrong with this skimmer, plus an internal skimmer so no feed pump needed.

A dnw110 or TS2 would be suffiecient if the system werent too heavily loaded..
i still rate these skimmers (no matter what the new rating i still feel they can be pushed a little more) approx another 15%

dont get me wrong bigger is better but if you on a budget look in your price range for a deal that will suit you.. buy for the longterm where possible..

O, yes those ts2 skimmers work great too. You can get one of those for about R1000 used.
