Check the impeller if it is sticky... try put your hand in the water... need to have balls off steel, if you get a shock its leaking water in, thats why it is tripping... had the same proble, lucky I got a 2nd hand OTP pump... new one is R900.00 @ Die Visdam but I think Ernst still got a 2nd hand one, noy 100% sure....

Rather earth your tank while busy.

Also instead of just shocking yourself, use a multi meter and check if pumps or heaters are leaking power.

Buying a new pump sounds like what you have to do anyway.

I opened it up and saw the seal around the cable going into the pump is leaking water in.
Gona let it dry and plug it in and see if it still trips the power. If it still does then i need a new pump. Other wise im gona get fiberglass resin and seal it again.

Maybe use the epoxy that they use to join cable joints!

One of my older pumps did it as well, I just took the back panel off, dried it thoroughly and filled it with silicone and put the panel back pressing the extra silicone out. I left it a week to dry properly. Problem solved.

I know what resin is and what it's used for, but not familiar with what it contains, just make sure nothing harmful will leach back into the tank.

Ja well i still have a problem.
As soon as i plug the pump into the wall socket it still trips the power.
Surely the pump must be dried inside already?

    Can i use a Haelia 1750 L/H pump for my TS2 skimmer?
    Or what can i use.

My OTP 2000 also smells like its burned inside. Can the pump be completely damaged?

The Haelia are strong pumps and will be no problem to run that TS2 skimmer.
