Im going to buy a Reef octopus bh 1000 for my 40g tank
i will hang it on the sump as i have no space in sump for a large skimmer.

do you think this is a good enough quality skimmer?
and would it do a good enough job on that size tank?

Between the Bh 1000 and ts2. for my side tank which one would you buy?
even though ts2 is in sump. i will just have to make space.

I have used the BH on a 150 litre tank previously. It worked very well.

in sump is better in the fact that if something goes wrong it folw back into the tank... a hang on back can spill the water on the floor if something goes wrong.

dude a hang on should only be considered if you have to attach the skimmer to the display or in a worst case scenario where the sump is too small. make space get an insump.

Agreed, a TS2 will far outperform the BH hang on. I have the older version of the BH 100 hang on skimmer, and while it does the job I reckon my old TS1 outperformed it, so a TS2 will be worlds better.
