Reef Brite has always been a company pushing out high performance lights, whether it is metal halide, T5, LED or a hybrid model and the company is keeping that rolling with its latest line of Reef Brite Tech LED strips that come in a variety of sizes from 2 to 27 in.
Although T5 supplementation has been wonderful for many reefers over the years, the lack of the mesmerizing shimmering effect you get with traditional lamps and new LEDs is a negative for most. Plus, the additional costs of higher wattage lighting and the need for changing out bulbs frequently make fluorescent lighting less appealing.
The newer Reef Brite Tech LEDs use 3W LEDs for maximum performance and output. They are designed to replace , standard strip lights or florescent strips with as much light produces as a T5 or VHO Fluorescent lamp. Unlike other LED strips one thing Reef Brite has always done well was to incorporate optimized reflectors to reduce glare and concentrate the light where you need it.
The Tech LEDs are available in natural daylight, 50/50 white and blue, and actinic blue and red. Reef Brite Tech LEDs are available now and retail for around $99 for the 8 in. light and up to around $360 for the 72 in. light depending on the retailer and location.
