not sure on price difference, think the redsea will be more, but don't think you can compare the 2, from what i've read seen the redsea is awesome, but time will tell:whistling:

The rest sea 130L probably cousts around R9000, whereas a 130L BOYU costs half of that.

Anyone willing to spend over R4k on a tank and buys an All-in-one has made a BAD decision in my mind. For 4K you could go custom and get much more for your buck

going "custom" is not cheaper by any means, add up all the bits along the way and see what it costs..... not as cheep as you hoped!

RedSea is nice since its plug and play!, not buying ballasts, lights, pumps, piping, timers, fittings, cabinet.... etc.... etc......

you could perhaps buy something second hand for a good price, but new.... doubt it!

lighty i agree with you most of the way. I got a 1.8 tank, cabinet, sump and RO chamber for R4000 second hand. Thats a good deal and i have the option for fish i want. BUT thats not a complete system, i still had to add to it lots and that pushed the bracket fast. I think second hand is the way forward and I would always look at custom to the space I have although you may end up spending more than you anticipated.

Of the two i hear the Red sea is a great buy, and 130l is a lovely size to play with:)

Red sea Max brand new is just over R10k at most places....and its not even the flagship 250 or 250D. There are one or two ppl overseas that have had issues with theirs....but thats to be expected. It is the best of all the nanos....but the most overpriced in my opinion. And if u can get it for R5500....thats just over the price of a nanocube and well worth, and much better in my opinion.

u could get a very small full setup for that amount of cash...but when it comes to saving space....the RedSea Max is tops.
