    Howzit peeps.

I developed a red/purple slime like substance on rocks that I'm busy curing.

Is this Cayno or is it just gunk that's coming out of the rock. As far as I know & have read is that Cayno needs light like all algea.

These rock have been laying in a dark drum in RO water after it had a ACID bath.

What is it exactly do you think? I'm still gonna be soaking & doing water changes for the next week maybe 2 weeks. image.jpeg

    Thansk guys

I highly doubt it is cyano, cyano will brush off very easily, if you even get freshwater cyano? I don't know. Not sure what it could be really.

Just to clarify, I did a ACID bath before these purple spots appeared. It appeared few days after the acid bath & has been soaking for about a week since the acid bath.

    Edit*
It does brush off easily though.

Pretty sure whatever it is is dead then? Is it soft or hard to the touch? Maybe just the natural colouring of the rock underneath now that you have cleaned it?

It's slimy & snotty. No the rocks were cleanish after the acid, it started appearing after it's been soaking for a few days.

I'll just keep on soaking it, think it's all the gunk from the rock being sucked out or sumthing.

In a DARK, COVERED drum with a bit of flow.
