    Hi there

Has any one use the Red Sea Salt (Coral) brand before, and if so what did you think of it.

Yip i normally use Instant Ocean (reef crystals) and it works out to about R280 for 2kg that does 90 liters, this Red Sea does 180 liters and goes for R 380. It also say that the Cal is 430 and the Mag 1350. Looks like a good alternative.

I personally wouldn't trust what the bag says about the Calc and Magnesium!! Alan has some very interesting results on another thread about the ACTUAL composition of these salts, but hey if the price fits...give it a try!! What you got to loose?!?!? I would!

Cool I think I'll give it a shot, I'll test the water once it's mixed and compair with what is said on the bag.

I have heard good about Red Sea salt from a few international SPS keepers. I believe it is low in phosphates, and high in trace elements (which ones, I dont know).

i am currently using it on my nano but dont have strong opinions about it either way. it does seem to be low in phosphates which is indeed great, but i have few corals in that tank yet so cant really compare.

    it mixes easily though:)

Red Sea has been around for many years so i would say its a tried and tested salt that you could use with confidence, just test parameters once mixed would be interesting.
