Decided to try red sea powder supplements.
Following the user instructions made a stock solution. 550g to 2 liter of ro water. After putting the ro water in with the powder the solution became to HOT to handle.
Felt like water out of a kettle.

Would like to now is it normal. Has anyone else experienced this?

Its normal. The powder is calcium and will release heat when dissolves
Ca dissolving in an exothermic reaction, ie gives off heat, as apposed to endothermic which requires heat to get the salt to dissolve.

But adding 550g to 2l seams like a bit much. Are you sure that's correct?

Yip, perfectly normal for it to heat up. My DIY calcium mixture also heats up.

    550g makes only one liter.

If you used 550g in 2 liter RO your solution will be 50% strength, so you'll have to use double the recommended dosage when adding it to your tank.
