red plant on live rock?

    hi

    iv been keeping my live rock in a bucket and the rock in the one bucket cooked due to a faulty heater anyway on these rocks theres a red weed/plant/ i duno what hers the pics im sure most of you will be able to make it out even tho its a bad pic im sorry

    do i take it of the rock or just leave it?

    Just leave the rock in. Probably some form of Red Macro which will turn out to be beneficial to your tank.

    Nice. But will not survive once you get tangs.

    Do not worry too much about it.

    And I cancelled my eye test tomorrow. :)

    The red algae grows into a beautiful bush that assists with nutrient removal, if not eaten by herbivores - a definite plus for your tank.

    I see what looks like bubble algae on that green patch :eek: If so, I would remove that rock, and KILL that whole area by first scrubbing it hard, and then either covering the area with a lime slurry of just burning it with a gas burner (or cigarette lighter...) - then rinse well before returning to tank. Rather be safe than sorry.

    Yes and no. i had a issue of iodine depletion cause but the red algea in my tank.

    your welcome to come and collect this stuff is like a wead in my tank.
