Ive heard from a few reefers that their bright red bubbletips turned green.
If youve experienced this can you please share, im specifically interested in what lights they are under in your tank.
Might be a long shot here, but id be even more interested to hear if youve had it turn back to red (or your green changed to red).

I do own 2x bubble tip anemones currently. (have owned +-5 total). One is a red inferno, & the other is a pink rose bta. Neither of them have changed color at all.

However, I have owned a purple tip BTA about a year ago, & it sometimes appeared to be a dark metallic green at the base, dark purple tentacles, & light purple tips, & other times the entire anemone looked reddish pink. I could never establish a reason for this behaviour, as the environment was almost always constant, & the lighting was a 150W 16000K mh unit.
I passed if on to a reefing friend when i rescaped my display tank.

I have since replaced the MH with a ecotech radion, & the anomones seem to love it!

Ive owned four different bubble tips and none have enjoyed strong light. My current one is at the very bottom of the tank partly covered by a shelf.

That why im curious about the colour change that people have observed, is it light or nutrient dependant?

Seems so. Was hoping more would speak about their experience. I know of five people who's red bubbletip anemones have behaved strangely.
Or are people afraid to speak in fear of being lynched?

Any idea why? And how did tank conditions differ from shop conditions?

Not an idea, the one day it was there the next day, just gone... tank was 100% no loss of fish or corals, no trace at all. Even looked in the skimmer and all pumps... just GONE

Anemones can change colors a bit. It is my belief that it is caused by lighting. I've had a green/red BTA that was kept under 400 watt MH lose all of its green under T5 lighting.

I have a few Red BTA's, had them for a few years they have always been kept under 150w MH's, ranging from 6500k to 14000k globes. When I propagate them they are kept under 2 x 39w 10k T5's until they heal before going back under the MH's. Never seen any type of colour change whatsoever.

When mine lost it's green, it was over a couple of months. I've heard of others having the same issue. I was not happy about it losing the green. I really liked the green and red together.

would the colour change not be from the zoo changing due to environment factors, changes is Fe, K, Iodide etc

I suppose it's possible, but I don't really know the answer to that.
