Hi i do not know what originally caused this to bleach , i got i from a friend who got it from some ones else
it jumped from its original tank to my friends tank over to my tank , not acclimated once physically pulled out and droped in every time , my tank was fairly new and i wasn't even sure what the coral was supposed to look like and if it was alive or not , i knew very little of corals at that stage and also had never heard of something bleaching.

this coral made a full recovery after going through a hell of a lot of stress and changes.

anyone else have any experience with reviving bleached corals?

Looks a bit like montipora hirsuta to me, not sure if that's the same thing as elkhorn.

so it seems to be (medusa) hirsuta montipora

i wonder how i should place this?

on edge of rock to grow out like a plate making sure to not shade other corals?

or on middel of rock to grow random branches ?

Here is mine (top right). Can easily move it anywhere as I mountes it to a magnet. (Old Jaboa magnet mount)
