    Hey guys and girls,

So I was recently doing some work up on the sodwana bay reefs, and managed to snap a few shots while sampling.

The pictures are from the Red sands MPA. It's a complete exclusion zone, with no-one allowed fishing, diving or going near it. We had a permit to do some research on the sediment off the reefs, and to take Sarcophyton samples for genetic research our lab is involved in.

    Enjoy:)

Awesome Brent. Is that reef not close to a wreck. At the Sodwana shoot out Denis King did a talk on a wreck that is out of bounds to divers. Cant remember the name of it.

Marco! Ya it's been a while! I've been really busy since November, but I'm almost in need of some supplies, so i'll be messaging you soon for that!
@Nemos Janitor, I'm not sure... I'm sure if there is it must be a spectacular diving experience!

Also remember them stating an off limits dive area at the sodwana shootout!
Whereabouts is this reef? (close to 9mile?) @Nemos Janitor, are you going to do the next sodwana shootout as well?

The northern most part of the complex is almost thirty km south of Jesser point... and runs south for about 40km.

Awesome. Thanks. I was lucky enough to dive this area, on a survey dive, many years ago when I worked for the great organization that once managed it.
@Nemos Janitor This area is north of Vidal. The two barges that Dennis is doing the photo survey on are south of Vidal.

So I haven't been diving much, with all my own sampling and lab work that I have been way to busy with... Anyhow, the last sampling trip to Rock tail bay was awesome, and I never uploaded the photo's....

So here they are! Enjoy
