i would advise bracing the inside bottom of the tank because it allows a better area for the front panes of glass to adhere to as there will be a right angled area it will be bonded against.

remember that the bottom is where most of the pressure will be.

is it best to have it standing on both ply board and styro?
or is styro ok on its own?

i personally dot take chances, its going to be there for some time so i like to make sure its well supported, i place shutterply that has been painted/ sealed well onto the stand and then 20-25mm thick polystyrene ontop of that. then the tank.

shutterply is generally very hardy and even if abused buy water retains its shape with no swelling. but painting it is advisable. the polustyrene is more just to make sure that it seats the tank evebnly and that if there were something hard between the wood and the glass base of the tank it would be absorbed into the polystyrene.

rather safe than sorry. remember you are goingt o have allot of money invested in livestock may aswell not skimp on the foundation of the system
