I had to go do some work in the biggest I work with here in Cape Town and I though I will take a pic or two for you guys. This tank was built as a fish only tank but we have started to introduce some LPS. When I took these pics the only some of the lights were on but you can still get an idea of just how awsome this display is. Tony Ingram is the diver, he helped me place the new corals.

This system has a huge heater system and it was actually running slightly higher temps today

No there are indeed but Tony scarred all the nice fish away and disturbed the loose stuff so the water went dirty pritty quick. Only the really big fish where bold enough to swim around while and after he was in the tank, like those big batfish the school of litaratus and the Dussemeri but the rest scattered quickly.

The tank is 10m long and just over 4m high but the acrylic panels are aprox 4.5m x 3m they are 30cm thick and cost just over 1mil for the two

    Huh, cheap ;)

They don't look 3m high, though. More like 1.8 or so. Was the original panel 3m?

WOw this tank has so much potential , i hope it progresses but from the looks of it, it isnt a hobbyist's tank more an ornament for the house? and big tanks like this just never get to what a hobbyist would give it, - take the big one at the "tank restaurant" they have soo much potential but they essentially look like tanks did in the 80s bare and sterile.

Would love to see this transformed into a truly living reef even if it just had some purple covered live rocks in it, but i suspect it has been treated with copper already?, i hope the lps survive in there.
