This is what my tank looked like in April 2017. As can be seen, it had become seriously overgrown with corals and things needed to be thinned out a bit.

This is 2 years of growth using manual dosing with the Seachem products. All the corals in the tank were started off with smallish frags with the exception of the frogspawn which was about the size of a tennis ball.

After taking a deep breath, I decided that it was time to strip down and re-scape the tank and move on to more advanced corals, but keep a few of my favourites.

I addition to the re-scape, I've also decided to modernise a bit and I installed a 5 stage dosing unit. I also decided to try the Aquaforest Component 1+, 2+, 3+ system. I might end up going back to the Seachem Range as the Aquaforest might prove to be too costly to run on my budget. Depending on how you interpret the directions, the 3 x 5lt bottles will either last me 6 months or 50 days. In theory the Aquaforest system sounds very promising, but I know the Seachem "recipe" that I used works for my tank.........Let's see what happens!

This is the tank now with the "new" reef and a couple of the coral frags that I kept from the previous setup. D50_3095.jpg

A closer view of one of my favourites...Zoa's. I have collected 8 different zoa frags which are currently in my frag tank. I'm slowly moving my corals over to this new arrangement. I'm looking for different zoa's and LPS corals.....not too interested in SPS corals.

The FTS of the tank before re-scaping was running on the standard default settings that the light comes with.

I adjusted the "new" aquascape lighting to A = 23, B = 32, C = 15, D= 20. I left the time cycle at default. Still experimenting with the light mix, but this one seems to be working so far.
