    Hi all ☺,

I came home last night and noticed that my anemone has spilt into 3 :cursing: I have had the anemone for 97 days.

I have been reading a bit and it's seems that there is no definitive answer as to why they split (happy, stressed, too much feeding, too little feeding, etc) :banghead:

All three still opens up and have their bubble tips. I assume that this is a good sign - pending your input.

I tested my parameters about 3 hours ago:
    Salinity: 1.025
    Ph: 8.3
    Kh: 9
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite: 0
    Nitrate 0
    Phosphate: 0.02
    Ca: 425
    Magnesium: 1380

My parameters have been in this range for the last 3 months. I stepped up my testing and dosing once I got the anemone to make sure everything is as close to its needs as possible.

I have not changed the flow in the tank in the last 2 months. I increased the intensity of my Razor unit slightly (A:3 % B:5%) about 3 weeks ago.

Any thoughts as to why it split? The fact that it split into 3 makes me nervous.

I also noted that all 3 started moving away from the spot the original one used to be in. The original one loved that spot..... why would all of them move away? The one has moved to a spot under a rock and I am not sure it will get much light there - I will not move them. Will be moving corals around though :censored:

As my tank is only 88 litres how long should I keep them before I need to remove them? Don't think my tank can handle that bio load.

Any advice moving forward with 3 anemones will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Joe

Well I guess if they look healthy then it can't be a bad thing. Would you sell me one?

RBTA split often from what I've heard.
Never heard of it being a problem. More of it being how they increase there numbers and life span.
They will all move to a spot that makes them happy.
Just watch one doesn't walk into a wavemaker.
But other then that don't stress.
If you decide to sell or pass one on please keep me in mind.

My inferno in the nano split into 3 last month. They are all still together, basically sitting so close to each other that you cannot really tell if there are 3.
In my sons tank, his inferno split into 2 on the same day. They used to be close together, but eventually the one moved away.

But yes, will remove one or 3 later as the original was big. 3 of them that big will not work in the tank.

As the reasons for splitting, I do not know. They were all in those tanks already for more than a year.

The one that is under the rocks, let him be, he will eventually come out one day when he wants to.

    Look good now.
I'm hope to be able to have 3 or 4 different nannies in my tank.
    But predominantly BTA.
Seen some great examples and ideas from guys over seas

It will look nice if they can just stay in the same spot and grow maybe but they split and then damage other corals.

This is where it all grew

    Morning :)

    Thanks for feedback.

All 3 are doing well I think. I think I will keep all 3 for a while. Just want to make sure that they are healthy.

My problem with the infernos is that they do take up a lot of space. Their tentacles are rather long and sweep over everything close by. Need to move things out of the way.

Normal bubble tips are more compact.

Lol. No idea Madmatt. Rainbow bulb tip anemone? It has purple tips, red tentacles and a green oral disc. Under the blue lights it has a yellow tint to it
