    Hi Guys,

    Just a quick question...

    What would work best on a 1.2m tank: 2x Radions or a 900mm Vertex SR260 ?

You have opened a can of worms. A subject hotly debated in here. Both hot units, both with good and bad points. In the end its up to you.
Personally the new Radion PRO's rock. And with the new ecotech wireless hub coming out, they shall even be better.
I have owned radions in the past was very happy with them, have friends with vertex and they also rock.
Chose according to your budget, but you wont go wrong with either.

Yea that is a hotly debated topic, brings back the whole lensed/unlensed thing again.

Both are very good units, I have vertex sr360 on my tank.

    Really your choice.

If you can still get the Radion Gen1 with TIR lenses that is on special, then 2 Radion units will be cheaper than the Vertex.

Other than that, you did not say the depth of your tank. But there the Vertex would be the better option if 600mm or deeper. Even maybe from 450 and deeper.

What is the coverage of a single Radion Gen 1 to Gen 2 upgrade?

Radion Gen1 with TIR lenses are just under the Gen2 as far as light penetration goes. No need to change from Gen1 TIR to Gen2, simply does not make sense.

The TIR lenses do penetrate a lot deeper. On your tank, 2 units would be OK, depending on rockwork and coral placement. If your rocks are high and the corals are placed from the side all the way to the other side, you might want to rather use 3 light units. I got 4 on a 1.5, by .75 by .75 tank. Where 3 units should be enough according to the specifications. But also note my units are mounted sodeways due to tank width.

Every setup is just that bit different, and you need to work out what you want.
