    Hi

Im not electronics expert so can someone please assist?

Would these be ok for your garden variety 3W leds? Im looking at some of the amperage and its higher than what a typical LED would need (~900MA). Does it have to be exactly the same amperage for the LED and the driver?

Waterproof 12V Power Supply - IP67 rated LED driver for LED Lights 15/30/60/100/150 Watt

    or this meanwell one:

    LPC-35-700 Meanwell LED Driver 9-42V at 1.4A IP67 - SwitchMode PowerSupply - Electronic Components - Rabtron Electronics

As long as the voltage is in range and you have amps equal or more than is required it should be fine.

If you connect a 12 V 100 mA device to a 12 V 1 amp power supply, the device will draw 100 mA.

Ok so does it mean if i have a 700mA led and a 5000mA driver, it should work? The LED will only draw what is required?

Nope the leds will pop, if the leds is 700mA the driver must be 700mA

    My 2c,

LEDS can handle higher voltages, BUT to much current and they will burn.

I tried this experiment and popped 20 LEDS
