    Hello everyone,

After lurking and drooling around here for years, I finally started up my first marine aquarium this weekend. It is a 40l system that will house an occelaris and a few other critters.

At the moment it is cycling with the live rock only, and my question is related to the ammojia test.

Wne doing the test with water from my tropical tanks, the test tube liquid stays clear. However, when doing the same test with the water from the marine test, the fluid in the tube becomes cloudy. It still colours the way it should, I think, but there is definitely particulate matter in the tube.

Is this normal? I use the Hagen tests.

This also happens with Salifert ammonia tests....according to them it's normal for their test.
