Hey guys,

I having the exact same problem as wetty in this thread:
Turbo Queen - Page 3 - Marine Aquariums of South Africa

It's a queen turbo skimmer- ancient. I used to run it with a 1800lph pump, which has gone missing :\ So now I'm trying to use it with a 1200lph, there's almost no bubbles and its barely collecting any skimate.

My display tank is around 350litres, I doubt the queen is gonna be sufficient. Do you guys think I should try and get a new Skimmer ? Maybe be the Reeftek TS1 ?

thanks :)

Sounds like wetty got his sorted and it's working well now. Try contact him if he doesn't see this.

Personally i would change the skimmer, if not you may want to increase the pump size as it sounds like the pump is too small for the venturi.

Guess wot I just came across.....lol lol

Yeah..personally id rather upgrade, still running my skimmer with no probs...but a better skimmer will rock ur tank. My lil skimmer is good enuff to start off the hobby with...and im not giving it a bad name...but its like an uno compared to an Astra GTC.

Im running a 2000l/h AquaOne powerhead...and its working well.

Most of us started with a jebo or queen skimmer. but rather invest in a better skimmer

At the end of the day...a skimmer is a skimmer...from the ancient bones to the latest space-age pieces of shyte...they all do the same job. And personally I respect the old timers for the pioneering work they did to get skimmage to where it is today.

Plus it all depends on ur budget too :1:

Wetty - in the end you are right.... it is just that at some stage reefers DO END UP in upgrading.... But, then - this happens when we have the money, hey! ;)

Cash be da problem mon.
