I thought to add my QT system specs to the group
It has worked for me over many years
1) Tank: 60 Liter tank
2) 55W UVC TLC bulb with quartz sleeve = 1 watt per liter on slow flow
3) Oversized wet dry filter ( good for ammonia control)
4) Internal wet filter
5) Lots of hiding places ( egg crate) for multiple fish QT
6) 3 x small heaters in case misfunction / cold night
7) small powerhead for flow if QT of tanks
Method:
I QT for min 3 months
50% Daily water changes : easy due to small tank size!
2 extra QT buckets in case different pathogens / individual fish goes a different way / or for rapid meds change
I start all QT fish at SG: 18 and build slowly up from there
All fish get sterizin on arrival for 2 weeks
Then: specific pathogens are treated afterwards as needed
Current QT fish:
Achilles / Navarchus and Lineatus
Time in: 1 month
Disease treated on above so far:
Fluke / velvet / white spot / internal worms
fish doing well / fat / eating and on raising of salinity stage
