I would like to know if you are experiencing the same problem the last month and a half I have bought 7 fish and all dead. One were spinning in the back after 10 minutes drive.

I am not going to mention where they do come from some were bought at sponsors and some not.

All fish were dripped as I am suppose to do the last few died after one day in quarantine.

It just feels to me like the quality of livestock we get is low or it's been badly handled by the shops??

Hi Andre the last two I bought the store had them for about 4 days. I know they don't quarantine them. Thats why I set up a Boyu Tl450 just for quarantine to make sure I don't take any disease into my big tank.

I don't want to place my other livestock at risk.

Add this to your "lessons learnt" notes. 4 days is still within crucial time, pay for it leave it at lfs for another week minimum.

i speak in general when i say sometimes your fish use to your conditions and new fish not,and the fact that they were at lfs fine and healthy it cant be the stock or the lfs fault..especially more than one lfs.. as far as i know lfs are always on the look out for better quality imports and suppliers as it also minimises their own losses, yeah ive seen some bad shipments hit the stores but most of the time its just getting better...probably another reason as to why new fish are dying

Maybe I have bad luck hitting the bad shipments LOL.

All good just wanted to get some info from other reefers I think I must start buying from decent shops and not just the normal LFS....

    Here is what I do...
This goes against all the rules out there but touch wood I haven't lost any fish yet.
I don't have a quarinteen tank set up so what I do is strait from the bag the fish goes into a bowl
Of room temperature RO water (fresh water) for roughly a minute and a half then I add one cup of tank water to the bowl every 10 seconds or so untill the bowl is full then just tip the fish in to the display

Remember this is just my way of introducing a new fish I'm not saying that it is the right way but it definitely works I figured that considering the fish has been super stressed from first being caught at the Lfs and then the drive home that doing a lengthy drip acclimation just prolongs the stress of the fish .
And the reason for the RO dip is that most Lfs tanks are infested with flukes. , I apply the same method to
    Corals.
But selecting healthy looking fish is the most important thing here

Fresh water dips are great for fish, but for corals rather use a dip from Seachem or tlf but the best is Coralrx
