So I bought my first fish, as mentioned above. Left him at the lfs for 10 days. He was looking really good, good colour, eating frozen food.

Brought him home to QT. 48 liter tank with, heater, airline pump with filter left in DT for 2 weeks. Painted black on 3 sides with black hood, no lights, clear bottom and dark blue PVC for hiding.

Temp 26, filled with water from my DT. Acclimatized by floating for half an hour, and lifting directly out of bag into tank. No nets, did it with my hand. Tossed bag water.

    Looking good.
Swimming around tank, no spots or cuts that I can see. Just doesn't want to eat. Ignores the food. I have been giving frozen krill and Ocean Nutrution Formula 1 pellets. I have had him for just over 48 hrs. Waited till next morning before first feed. Sucking up food after 15 minutes.

What do I do and how long can he go without eating?

Get some micro blood worms! Mine loves it! The only thing he eats without taking a taste first

Very small QT, he might fell a bit boxed in.
At the LFS store, how big was the tank? What were they feeding him?

I would take the plunge and put him in your DT.

Try mysis shrimp. Mine goes nuts for it. I have had mine for some time and they still do not take pellets. Also, what size is it. Are you sure it is a not a he and that is carrying eggs in its mouth?

Same size tank at the lfs. I have been considering the same thing as I have no other fish yet and I am not planning on getting any for a while. Rookie mistake?

Lfs was feeding mix of frozen. Krill, mysis etc. Didn't have the mix for sale when I bought him so I got the krill only.

About 3.5 cm nose to tail. He was eating at the lfs. Don't think he has a mouth full.

If you don't have other fish in DT, I would make the swap!
Don't do it now, wait till sunrise. Then catch the little guy and move him to DT.

Don't run white lights or he day, only blue, so he can acclimatize o the DT.

    Best of luck!!!!!!

Put him in the DT. He ate 2 small pellets today. Hopefully more tomorrow. Cleaner shrimp is chasing him around in a friendly way, I think.

LOL whilst the fish and invertebrates might not really take up the offerings. Try a high amino, attractive food like reef paste. The fish will get nutrition through its respiration. Will prolong if you can fix.
