    Snails

I am looking for the snails responsible for keeping the substrate clean. They tend to live in the sand and only have a small percent of the shell sticking out. The others common one's in the cleaning crew are the algae eating guys who tend to live on the glass - them I do have

I think you're looking for nassarius snails.

Pyramid snails are pests and chow clams.

Taahirs, you could be correct, I was told to get nassarius snails to eat the hair algae and Pyramid snails to keep the gravel clean. I manage to get what I believed was nassarius snails who are keeping the glass green hair algae free but it could be that I have the wrong snails name.

Any advice on gravel cleaning snails - Thanks

Nassarius are the gravel cleaning ones. You'll hardly ever see them as they live under the sand.
