Is ok to put a pvc check valve to a return pump? just to avoid water back-flow? any pros & cons? I already drilled hole on my return pipe but this doesn't work very well, there is so much water flowing back to the sump as well as it produce bubbles. The hole is a bit lower of an MM from my water level.

    Thank you in advance...

metal spring inside. Then do not do it.
I also got a little siphon break hole just at the water level. And it too do seem to pull in air bubbles from that hole. Changed it to this:

Works better. Micro irrigation connector above the water line. It then cause a pee line. No snail will park off there at a critical moment. Quick to check for blockage. Clean with toothpick.
The elbow at the end is not really needed.

    Interesting valve

    But
any piece of debris, algae or cheato that get stuck in there can cause the valve not to close 100%. So on a 2 hour power outage, a lot of water can still seep past the valve and flood your sump.

@RiaanP method is the best trust me I had three floods in my lounge. The check valve will work until it gets blocked with algae.....

To answer your question - yes it will work.

To tell you the truth - you creating a algae hold that will build up and eventually cause a block then you have other problems ......
