Hi guys,

I have been searching for info on splitting Sebae anemones, info that seems to be hard to come by. I was hoping that someone on this forum might have more information on propagating Sebae anemones.

Any insight and help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't think I've ever heard or seen of anyone cutting a Sebae as they're considered one of the more difficult anemones. I've successfully cut a few bubbletips, but they are a lot more forgiving when being propagated. If you're struggling to come by any info then I think it is safe to assume there aren't many success stories on the Sebaes.

As mentioned by Viper. The Seabae anemone's are of the most difficult to keep as even the most seasoned aquariasts have difficulty keeping them alive for more than 2 years. With that said I would not advise on splitting it. If it is healthy it will split on its own. I have had 2 of these and never got past the year and a half mark with them. They are just very sensitive to changes.

I had a Sebae in my system for 3 years and besides quadrupling in size, it never split once. Bubble tips in the same system would split on a very regular basis. I also searched for info on this and there was little that was available. My advice is leave it be

Thanks for all the info, I know the bubble tips split easier but was really hoping to start propagating some sebaes as well. Guess we still have a long way to go in terms of research on the Sebaes.
