Ok so this morning I fed all my nennies a piece of frozen line fish. Went out for a couple of hours and came back to this.

Whats going on? The mouth is closed, so should I worry?

Do you have a pic of it in it previous tank .... They take awhile to adjust ... house the flow across it and the lighting? ... BTW how old is your tank .... also how big a piece of fish did you feed it ? Remember they can eat and then spew that piece out much later and will end up starving .... you might not find evidence of it as it will be consumed by other tank mates ....

My guess would be it took a poo and got deflated. Leave it for a day and it should be back to normal.

+1 to what Dexter said

I have had it a few days less than a week. Second time I have fed it
If you have had it less than a week and already fed twice it may just be expelling waste... I would give it some time to settle down before feeding too heavily

Anemone's are known to deflate occasionally in order to expel waste, as long as they inflate again by the next day it is generally nothing to worry about, only if they stay deflated for longer than a day is it time to be concerned.

What lighting do you have over your tank?

I have DIY LED built from Improved Living. 315W. HE was really happy for like 4 days untill I fed him the second time. HE started inflating last night but today he is flat again. Mouth is still brown.

Nennies can be tempramental. I find my nennie also sulk for a day or two after i fed it. But generally he gets back to his old self after a while. I also find if i split the meal in two it sulks less. So what i do from time to time is cut lance fish in two and maybe feed on wednesday and then again on saturday or sunday. Sometimes he doesnt eat for a week.

Mine deflates pretty often and is very happy. The browning by the mouth is probably releasing waste. They generally release the waste a day or 2 after feeding.

My BTA was deflated a lot of the time for the first 3 to 4 weeks, looked very stressed. Now it's very happy.
On a side note be careful what you feed it - I only give mine chopped up pieces of prawn that I shelled myself.
Some fellow reefers have posted horror stories about fish brought at local supermarkets that have been dosed with meat tenderiser and all sorts.

I feed it Ocean Nutrition lance fish pieces. Same thing goes to my BT and Carpet. The BT is as happy as can be.

So far I have noticed that it is a bit more inflated in the mornings and I am performing some maintenance on my lights so they have been off half of today.

He looks more inflated and now his mouth is open. I will try take a pic.

Sorry man, I totally forgot to reply.

1. It just arrived at the LFS.
2. Flow is 3000lph return + RW8 running at 40% power and a 40sec on/off routine. Total water movement is aprox 15-20times DT volume.
3.My tank is about 8 - 9 months.
4.It was about 1/2 a lance fish.
