Hey guys. I'm wondering and pondering.
My newly introduced purple tang is being pestered non stop by my yellow. Do I
    1) Leave them and wait until they chill.
    2) Separate them. One in the sump and the other in the display. (If so which one)
    3) Re-arrange some rock work.

Depends on how badly it is being hassled and if it is stressed and trying
    To hide

If it is trying to hide I would
Try and keep them In the tank but seperate them and leave the purple in a crate
This will allow the yellow to get used to the purple being around

If this doesn't help, I would then find a new home for one or the other

Sometime they calm down , but on other occasions they will hassle the fish till it stresses out and dies

Mmmm that's tough one Gareth. Try the mirror trick as well, place a mirror on one side of the tank, see if the yellow gets distracted by it. If they don't don't come right, I would take them both out, sump them for a day or two together, move rocks in DT, then introduce them again to the DT. In both times a new environment is introduced and the fish will first be a bit confused.

However, with this being said, because the two are of both of the Zebrosoma genus, there will always be some bickering, my scopas and purple love to chase each other around the tank, and I have a fairly large tank (ps, come for a visit when you have time, have some more aragonite for you, if you want).

True story, I have a purple, yellow, sailfin and scopa all 4 being Zebrasoma.
At first they performed a bit, did the mirror trick and worked wonders. Did
the same for the acantherus as well. But I was unsuccessful with a gold rim.

I have 9 tangs now, all on big happy family. As all happy families go, they
have a dis agreement now and then but soon after that they swim happily
    together again.

mirror trick! it worked for me, when I introduced my purple, he got shredded by the yellow and scopes, I placed 2 cd's on 2 of the viewing panes over a few days and they let him be.

Yep, after they settled, the purple stood his ground and didn't take k@k anymore. Sad to hear about the flame Carlos :(

Ok, so I put a mirror on the front viewing panel of my tank. The 2 egomaniac bullies are still at it a bit. Will leave it there for a few days or unless the fighting stops.
Another option would be to get another fish (yellow tang) Is this true??

Try, see what happens, never heard of that method, you'll probably find that one will be ignored and two will fight, most likely the two yellows, unless they are a pair, and then they will most likely pick on the purple.

Oh the mirror? Inside or outside tank? I put it on the outside as mirrors got metal in them?
