The theory is that modified sine wave is not good for anything with a motor. They run warmer and noisier.

    an Ellies 1000VA/600w inverter

i know the theory, but the inverter allows one to adjust the sine-wave without the cost... been using it now for 2 years and i get a good few hours...
also its online so when there is power it is not used

How do you adjust the sine wave? And that would be an offline inverter.

I personally would rather stick to a Pure Sine if running induction devices such as pump etc.

Hi Travis1 Bought my 600w inverter with built in charger and my 100ah deep cycle battery from All Electrical in Pinetown, They get it through ACDC and works out cheeper to get from them. Picked up inverter for about +/- 1800 and battery for 1300. You can get bigger from them as well, just work out what you need to run and then for how long
