It is used in marine ship builds and it contains a chemical that is self extinguishing during a fire. When I worked in the plastics molding industry with my dad, we used a self extinguishing fire retardant in certain products that contained a type of zinc powder mixed in with other chemicals. Many of these void fillers also contain anti fungal chemicals as they are used in wet marine environments. I would stay away from these products if used in your DT or sump.

I have used polyurethane expandable foam, with no issues. It must be 100% cured before placing in water. I have not used the black pond foam. they are the same thing, different color.
