    Hi all

Just wanted to share some of the stuff that I am doing with my Profilux - you can view my profilux at http://greenlab.webhop.net:8081

This application can work for both a profilux ii & 3

I am also busy testing the new beta firmware from Profilux which will allow the profilux to send emails directly. This will allow you to receive alarm emails & other stats as well.

That looks very interesting Vatso. I am a bit lost. What is a profilux? Sort of a mini computer for a reeftank?
I am looking for something, where I can get sms´s in case of a temperatur problem, powercut or a broken pump. Any idea how I can realize something like that?

Hi Ross it requires a PC running on your Lan 24/7 with port forwarding and such enabled.
I am working on being able to host this app & retrieve info from many Profilux Units so that you can log onto one website - I am still busy chatting to the developer re this.

Here is where the app is for download http://reefstatus.codeplex.com/releases/view/32241#DownloadId=131604

The new version has the ability to now through command line send emails - I am going to try this when a power failure happens get a UPS to trigger an email.

I think you would battle. Firstly most Profilux users are addicted to them, and secondly the base module can be upgrade to the new model each time a new one comes out.

Just an update from my experience with this so far. The software does not run on a Windows 7 64bit machine. Admittedly I did not have a lot of play time with it.

Was installing the new skimmer & switched everything off so the profilux the probes all read off.

Vatso, did you also look at the Aquatronica system? Any particular reason why you chose Profilux?

I did look at a lot of different system which included doing it myself.

After looking at what the guys were doing with the profilux & the updates I decided to go profilux route. As you may know I am on the beta testing program & have access to the dev profilux team. which is of great value when you want to do some funny stuff.

IE: Run current pumps only for a period of time & have them also switch off when feed pause if active.

Or have a skimmer sensor switch the skimmer off so it does not over flow & switch the pump off for an hour when feeding or dosing
