I would appreciate some help. I've read the led strip threads and I understand that for coral growth and health they are absolutely useless. I want them for aesthetics. I have 6 T5's over my tank for lighting but I don't have the option of dawn/dusk modes. I would like to add some light for an hour before and after my normal light cycle to slightly temper the "Que the sun!" moment and scaring everything in my tank half to death. I would also like to have pretty shiny corals for a little bit at night before going to bed.

To this end I have been looking at these:

I want blue light and pretty corals to put it bluntly. The cheapest way for the most light is 2 meters of 20000k aquarium strip led, 10W power supply and a power connector. Just over R500 total.

    These are my questions:

    1. Is the aquarium blue 20000k the right light for the job? (No wavelength available) In other words, will it give me blue popping colours?
    2. Should I rather just get the blue light or maybe even the RGB strip with controller?
    2. Does someone else have a cheaper better way of doing this?

I would say look on AliExpress.com - Online Shopping for Electronics, Fashion, Home & Garden, Toys & Sports, Automobiles from China. but these guys are very well priced with their light strips.

Why not go for a full spectrum colour one so you can change the colours to something other than blue?

you get them super cheap on e bay with a color controller so when you feel like a change you just change the color

Do you by any chance have an e bay link? Or can PM one?

I got a strip of blue led which is used to go in vehicles to make them look fast and furious, ha ha not something I would use but this worked extremely well. It makes my tank pop with colour and I have it on a timer switch for two hours before and after my normal lights. What area are you in?

PMB. Just normal blue? They offe this 20000k aquarium blue but I don't know if it's any better. They say the lights actually look white which worries me.
