What is the difference between normal fluorescent (T5's) and power compacts if any. What type fittings do they use and are they readily available in South Africa? You also read about compact fluorescents.
Thanks

Sanders

Hi Sanders, a power compact is effectively a T5 bent back on itself thus the same wattage for half the length

Yes they are available and there are a few different types of fittings.

problem is normally the kelvin rating is on lower more yellow side of the scale but looks like things are looking up for us in sa.

I have managed to get fitting from Hennie, but I am also trying to see where they can be bought.

I posted a pic in my nano thread but cant find it now give me a few seconds and I will find you one

Nice viper, where are they from??

Those are the ones I bought from Galibore, made by Hopar, very nice little units, I am very impressed with them.

So am I corect in assuming that they are more for use in a Nano system?
