Hey guys! Our flat had no electricity on Wednesday from 9:00am to 7:00pm. My tank smelled OK and looked OK so I did a 25% water change and changed the active carbon. Parameters tested normal, Alk was a bit low thou.

I'm starting to notice that my sps Is bleaching at an incredible rate. Is my tank crashing? What should I do?

Ramp up the flow and ensure water well oxygenated. You have a sandbed?

From 6 to 10 in just a few days is pretty fast. Could very (most) likely be the cause of the bleaching.

Do i understand you correct in that the KH was 10 then after the issue went to 6 then you raised it back to 10.

With a sandbed, a drop in alk is very possible during a power outage, actually suspected... Not familiar with your setup, but just because it dropped so fast, dont mean it needs to get back up there so quickly...
The drop would have stressed the corals, but having survived that, rapidly raising it could be the proverbial straw on camel's back.
Best now is to allow it to drop a dkh or so, add some amino acids and keep it stable.

    As @irie ivan says.

When things settle I would also try and keep the KH at about 7.5 - 8.

Thanks but I have no transport @ the moment. Our car Is In for repairs and we are still waiting for the assessor to come and assess the car. Stupid Insurance companies! I'll ask my cousin to come and pick up the coral tomorrow. Thanks!

The montipora cap. Is losing color all over and can't see were the bleaching starts. The green slimer just lost Its color but I think It's only the beginning. My green/brown acro lost Its green and Is starting to bleach from one or two tips. The rest of my sps Is still fine. I'll try and upload some pics A.S.A.P.
