My journey to a bigger tank has started guys.

After a lot of planning, brain storming and research this is what I came up with. My aim to this whole new tank build is to make it maintenance free and eco friendly and to house my inmates in a bigger tank. Total system volume is +- 1500l. This tank will be SPS dominated with a few LPS.

On a first note I would like to thank @Goby and @Express Reef for helping me with this build you guys rock man
    :yeahdude:

My setup will consist of the following:

    Tank

    1500 x 1200 x 600

    Glass 12mm thick

Viewing sides all Star fire glass

    Euro bracing

Slim over flow box. Over flow box will be made out of perspex and will be detachable for maintenance.

    Sump

    1500 x 840 x 540

    Glass 6mm thick

The sump will consist of the following compartments:

    1.) Water change compartment

    2.) R.O compartment

    3.) LR compartment

    4.) Return

5.) Refugium with a Mantis shrimp ( Still deciding on this one)

    Filtration

    Skimz SM 202 External Skimmer

Skimz FM fluidize Reactor (For N/P Bio Cubes)

Two little fishes Reactor (For Carbon)

    Flow

3 x Vortech MP40W ES ( Will be adding a MP60w ES in the future)

Reef Octopus Water Blaster HY-10000W (For return and feeding the Skimmer and Reactors)

    Lights

A total of 110 x Luxeon ES 3 Watt LEDs which will consists of the following:

    22x NW

    33x RB
    11x Deep Red
    11x Cyan
    11x Cool blue
    22 x True Violet

LEDs will be cluster in a group of 10 spread out on one heat sink off 11 clusters. Every cluster will consists of the following LEDs:

    3 x RB

    2 x NW

    2 x TV

    1 x CB

    1 x C

    1 x DR

LEDs will be arranged like so per cluster

    ---RB-CB-RB---

    --TV-NW-NW-TV--
    ----C-RB-DR---

Will be using Steve's LEDs drivers to power up the LEDs. All LEDs will be controlled through my Reef Angel Controller through analog signal dimming.

    very awesome design

one suggestion for your sump, always safer to have you external skimmers/filters in a small drip tray, 2 types of reefers those that have flooded and those that are going to

Thanx man, I've been waiting a really long time for this.

Thanx Les, pictures are on their way.

Thanx Michael, your tank build inspired me to go this size. I totally dig your tank.

O man yes I agree, as @Goby and @Express Reef is building my tank. And you are sitting all ready with a neat tank that @Goby designed that dude can sure build a nice tank:yeahdude:

Thanx dude, thanx for helping me out with the sump and tank. I think this sump design off your is going to work leka;)

Thanx Helga, your tank build inspired me to go this size. I too totally dig your tank.

Nice suggestion dallas, as like a drip tray for those big mobile generators and paint/ chemical storage areas. I think I'll implement that with the tank build. Rather be safe than sorry and assess all your hazards and risks if you want your tank to run perfect:thumbup: Risk assessment for "tank build" here you come:eek:.

    Thanx Ayoob;)

Stand complete, I decided rather to go with this tuff sponge rubber than the polystyrene.
