Polystyrene glue

    Help please

    Hi am looking for some type of glue to glue polystyrene to iron.

    I am not sure if you get glue like that?

    stupid question, but wont silicone work if you allow it to cure for a couple of days ?

    Silicone definitely. Just make sure the iron is clean. Maybe ruff the iron up a bit.

    silicone will be your best bet as it can take various temperature extreems (as much as 100deg if i remember correctly)

    i used the normal bostik marine to glue ploystyrene to my tank frame

    i dont know what its called, but it looks like a U with a wire between the two points, you plug it in the wire gets hot and it slices through polystyrene like a hot knife through butter.

    That is the best way if you want it to be neat. If neatness doesn't matter a stanley blade will do.

    Heat a thin knife up on the stove, cuts through poly like butter !! ... best is to use an open flame like on a gas stove

    a Hot wire is the best, otherwise use and electric carving knife. A bread knife works well too.
