i collected a whack of pods here in Norway over summer by taking a small holed net with an exteded handle and running it through macro algae growing on the sides of rocks and in rock pools. Got a whole stack of small glass shrimps too, but let em go for now:)

Go to a rocky beach and look in the rockpools for the green leafy algae called Ulva fasciata. It looks like lettuce. Pick it from the base, place in a bucket of water and shake very hard. Amphipods love to hide in that stuff. They look like grey flees.

Kingfish - copepods and amphipods is a little hard to find in Durban unless you head off to the North Coast. Best bet would be Umhlanga Rock pool at the lighthouse. Pick up any loose rocks and shake into a bucket of seawater.

Another easy way to collect is using a net with small mesh and scraping it along the bottom of the rock edges. Move the net along the edge in one direction and empty the net at the end. You should have food.

    Good Luck

    Andre
