lol, tough topic. Most of do not speak about the dreaded plumbing, We just connect them all up.And if there's leaks, we start over. Check under the newbies section for threads wrt plumbing- plenty there

    Hi Nathen

there are many different ways of plumbing up a tank, really depends on your preferance.

piping size depends on your water flow you are wanting to achieve, eg. I'm using 32mm piping on my return line and getting about 4000lph, but only have 2 90deg bends. more bends can decrease the the flow due to back presure.

why not post your plans and it would be easier for us the help, as we would know the constrates.

Unfortunately I'm on my mobile otherwise I would post a link to my page, perhaps search for it under "Members setups" its Lightys 110g tank. the first couple pages shows my setup.

    hope this helps.

Can decrease the flow??? No, it WILL decrease the flow rate.
Look at the plumbing they do for swimming pools. 90 degree elbows only.
    That´s is a no go.
Try to use only 45 degree bends and try to get 45 degree T-pieces, if you need T-pieces.

You pay the same electricity to keep your pump running. So you want the maximum flowrate!
