Please ID White stuff growing under rocks

    hairy tube sponges - Sycon spp.
    not bad stuff - they don't like light that much

    Those are sponges. Commonly called q-tip (US word for earbuds) or pineapple sponges.
    They are in the genus Scypha. They are beneficial filter feeders. :)

    Hey wats up with all the GHA in your tank Meneer, bad sign dude, get rid of it asap or u gna sit with long term problems

    GHA is a symptom, not a problem. In fact, it is beneficial in that it absorbs nutrients that would otherwise be in the water column and - if in high enough concentrations - cause other problems. But - it is an indicator that water conditions are not ideal.

    I have those rubbish sponges even growing in my skimmer! lol Don't stress about the GHA, its normal to have it in a new tank

    @JsPLAYn - The GHA you see there is only on 2 frags that was placed there.

    I have since removed the GHA on them. I only have some in my sump. NO GHA in the tank at all....

    @Meneer, good stuff, no disrespect to what the guys said above ,but I've personally seen guys give up the hobby due to GHA extreme outbreaks, once they start,get them under control . An yes its normal to have them, naa dnt think so, thru 3 tanks so far, dnt even knw wat hair algae looks like lol
