please id this wrasse

    Please help ID this wrasse, I do not believe that it is a iridis wrasse. [​IMG]

    Formosa wrasse. Can get pretty big. Also pushes rocks over and uproots corals at times. Very beautiful but meant for bigger tanks..

    sorry, it is +/-200mm in length, from a friends tank.

    Lovely fish. Sorry to say i think you might change your mind and want to remove him from that lovely reef setup you have going there after you get to know him.

    If you have hermits, shrimp etc dont be surprised if they slowly disappear. And as Scuba says, Invest in some putty and superglue. You are going to need it.

    thanks N J, he is fully grown already, it a friends fish, and it has gone into a fowlr tank. I think it was nipping softies also.

    Ahem! Get him out of there, mine went psyco and started eating my inverts and turning over corals and stuff.

    Queen Coris Wrasse - awesome fish - just not in a reef aquarium. It's natural prey is all/any invertebrates.
    It kills/eats ALL of your Cleanup crew (ie. snails, hermit crabs), as well as all/any shrimps/starfish you might have.....

    GREAT in a fish only system!

    Oh Yes, forgot to mention. He cant resist blood worm. So an aquamedic fishtrap with some blood worm as bait and his outa there in a jif.
